Abstract

Contemporary Punjabi poetry is being written keeping the present human existence in the center. Currently, issues like the self-existence of man have become the main focus of contemporary poetry. This poetry, taking various concerns in its fold, is expressing the feelings of the common man instead of keeping any particular man in the center. Pal Kaur's poetic sensibility
has its own special place in the Punjabi poetry of Haryana. The poetic sensibility in Pal Kaur's poetry collection 'Savikar Ton Baad' has been chosen as the subject for the present research paper. Various concerns related to human self-identity have been made the basis in this poetry collection. In this era of globalization, due to separation from the group and the emergence of loneliness, the individual identity of man is being lost, due to which man is becoming less sensitive. Man is abandoning human values due to his materialistic interests. This study has made an attempt to identify the internal dialogue and inner conflict of the modern man by making the poetry collection 'Savikar Ton Baad' as a basis. One aspect of modern poetry is interested in the existence of women and the presentation of female consciousness. The main tone of Pal Kaur's poetry also speaks of the journey from female thought to female consciousness. Thus, the main concerns in Pal Kaur's poetry have been identified in the research paper at hand.
